Celebrating 20 Years of CTP Workflow

This year marks a special milestone for Presteligence as we celebrate 20 years since the first installation of our CTP Workflow, NewsXreme. What began as a reliable on-premise system to automate plate production has evolved into a modern, cloud-based solution serving newspapers across the country—still driven by the same mission it started with: efficiency, reliability, and results. From Local Installations to Cloud Power Over the years, the CTP Workflow has gone through numerous versions—each iteration bringing more automation, smarter tools, and greater flexibility to newspaper production. The early systems streamlined prepress operations, automatically routing pages, generating proofs, and sending plates directly to output devices with precision. Today, CTP Workflow lives in the cloud, offering the same trusted functionality with enhanced accessibility, performance, and scalability. By moving to the cloud, newspapers eliminate the cost and hassle of maintaining on-premise servers, while gaining the benefits of redundancy, disaster recovery, and seamless remote access. Why Newspapers Love It as a Service Newspapers that use NewsXtreme Cloud as a hosted service appreciate the hands-off management and guaranteed uptime. Presteligence handles updates, monitoring, and maintenance, ensuring the system is always optimized. Whether it's a single-site operation or a multi-site publishing group, our hosted solution simplifies complex production environments—especially as more publications consolidate and centralize operations. Built-In Tools That Deliver The cloud version includes many of the features and functions that customers have relied on for years: Ink Optimization: A proven tool that reduces ink consumption while maintaining print quality, saving money on every run.PDF Corrector: Automatically checks and fixes file issues before they become pressroom problems—ensuring smoother production and fewer errors.Commercial Portal: An online interface for commercial customers to submit and track jobs, saving staff time and improving communication. These features are now integrated into the cloud workflow because they've become essential to modern newspaper and commercial print operations. New Customers, Continued Growth As more publishers look to replace their aging legacy workflows, NewsXtreme Cloud remains a proven and modern alternative. Among those embracing the future is Ogden Newspapers, who are actively transitioning their sites to the cloud. Their move embodies the growing trend of publishers seeking dependable, scalable systems that don't compromise on control or quality. A Legacy of Reliability, A Future of Innovation From its first installation two decades ago to its current role powering cloud-based production for leading publishers, NewsXtreme CTP Workflow continues to stand the test of time.
